Learning Objective(s):

• Narrow down college and post-secondary options.

• Determine interests and goals with post secondary options.

• Develop method(s) to evaluate and decide between post secondary options

 

Materials:

• College & Career Information Chart

• College & Career Survey

 

Procedure:

• Open topic about students going through process of evaluating and persuing post-secondary options.

• Explain the chart.

• Have the students work on the chart individually.

• Have the studenst break into groups to discuss their charts.

• College verbal feedback from students about using the chart.

• Administer survey.

 

Evaluation:

• Process data - collect attendance for the class(es) where classroom guidance was given

• Perception data - observe the students while they are working independently and in groups. Ask questions and be available for questions.

• Outcome data - observe college and career acceptance rates.

 

Follow Up:

• Check in with students about how the college/career application process is going.

• Evaluate feedback provided in surveys. Meet with students who the chart did not help.
